1. Submit a deletion request
Email a@moore.co.ke with the subject “Data deletion request”. You may submit a request for yourself or for someone who has authorised you to act for them.
2. What to include
Please provide enough information for us to locate the correct records:
- your full name;
- the phone number, WhatsApp number, email address, or username used with the Service;
- the MooreTech product involved—for example BizConnect, Tickets254, Wheelytics, Fleet Management, Rustpay, RackRentals, or PichaYangu;
- the business, dealership, SACCO, organiser, photographer, event, or merchant involved;
- what you want deleted, such as your account, lead, messages, attendee record, selfie and face embedding, payment contact details, or all eligible personal data; and
- any relevant non-secret reference, such as an order, ticket, event, tenant, or transaction reference.
If your request is limited to certain records, say so. You may also request access, correction, restriction, or objection instead of deletion.
3. Data controlled by a MooreTech customer
A MooreTech customer often controls records about its buyers, passengers, crew, investors, attendees, recipients, or photo customers. Contact the relevant organisation first where practical because it decides whether the record must be kept and can often act faster. You may still copy or contact MooreTech, and we will help route and fulfil the request as the customer's service provider.
If you do not know which customer is responsible, tell us where you interacted with the Service and we will try to identify the correct controller without disclosing another person's data.
4. Remove MooreTech access from Meta
To disconnect the MooreTech app from your Facebook account:
- Sign in to Facebook and open Settings & privacy, then Settings.
- Open Apps and websites.
- Find MooreTech, select it, and choose Remove.
- Confirm the removal. If Meta offers an option to notify the app about deletion, you may select it.
You may also revoke business integration access in the relevant Meta Business settings. Removal prevents future access through that authorisation, but it does not by itself delete records already stored by MooreTech or a MooreTech customer. Email a@moore.co.keto request deletion of those records too.
5. What happens next
- Acknowledgement: we log the request and identify the relevant product and data controller.
- Verification: we may verify control of the phone, email, account, ticket, or transaction, or verify an authorised representative.
- Review: we determine which systems, customer workspaces, providers, logs, and backups contain eligible data.
- Action: we delete, de-identify, or securely isolate eligible data and instruct relevant processors where required.
- Response: we confirm completion, explain any lawful limitation, or ask for information needed to continue.
We aim to respond without undue delay and, where the Kenyan Data Protection (General) Regulations apply to an erasure request, within the required 14-day response period. Complex requests may require coordination with the customer that controls the data or a third-party provider.
6. What may be retained
Deletion is not absolute. We may retain or restrict the minimum necessary data when required to:
- comply with law, accounting, tax, payment, anti-fraud, or lawful authority requirements;
- complete a transaction, resolve a charge, refund, complaint, security event, or legal claim;
- protect other people's rights, system integrity, and evidence of consent or opt-out;
- preserve records that belong to another person or cannot reasonably be separated; or
- maintain an anonymised record that can no longer identify you.
Residual copies may remain in encrypted backups until the backup rotation completes. They are protected from ordinary use and, if restored for disaster recovery, remain subject to the deletion request.
7. Product-specific deletion notes
- Messaging: tell us the sender/business and recipient number. Deletion may cover contact data, message bodies, delivery records, and the Meta connection where you control it.
- Tickets and events: provide the organiser, event, ticket or order reference. Financial and check-in records may have required retention periods.
- Dealership and fleet: identify the dealer or SACCO. Operational records may be controlled by that business and may affect ownership, safety, employment, or accounting records.
- Photo matching: identify the event and phone/account used. You may specifically request deletion of the selfie, source upload where you own it, face embedding, match results, order, and download records.
- Payments: provide a non-secret transaction reference. We can delete eligible MooreTech records, but the payment provider may have independent legal retention duties.
8. Help and complaints
For deletion or any other data-rights request, email a@moore.co.ke. Read our Privacy Policy for more about how and why data is processed.
If you are not satisfied with the response, you may file a complaint with Kenya's Office of the Data Protection Commissioner.
